STRING LINES 101 (How to set up a string line on a construction site.)

Step by step guide to setting up string lines on a construction site.
Step1.Fold the line back on itself.
Step2.Twist the 2 lines together 6 times.
Step3.Feed the loop over the stake.
Step4.Tension the line by pulling tight.
Step5.Tie off by looping over the stake twice.

I'm laying some patio slabs at the moment and two things I have learnt is that having tight and accurate string line is a must and that watching string techniques on YouTube does not mean your lines will be tight or accurate. My technique is terrible and I know I need practice outside of this project but I'm in it now and I just wrap it up loads to get by but I'm not happy ha.

There a way to sight the string line and make sure it’s straight from both ends of the stake? Apart from eyeing it. Was the most straight fence post

Shouldn’t really have pins that low if you fell that would be serious

The worst way to set strings I use wooden stakes how are you gonna slide a string up on wood? Terrible
