This was more than I had imagined, what a beautiful way for rebirth- your beautiful child, the nature, the sea, and you three together. Life is beautiful and love DOES conquer all.

Your experience is so similar to what we had when my husband I were younger! It’s almost uncanny how your feelings for the energy of that property are exactly what we experienced. The same knowing, the same blast of positive energy and the same excitement for the future of our lives there. Our farm was in the high mountains of the Western Cape in South Africa with views that swept across valleys to the snow capped mountains of the Matroosberge. We grew plants for their essential oils and toiled away from dawn to dusk. We even had that same thistle (Perde thistle or horse thistles in English) that you found which needed to be eradicated! We had to sell it eventually due to our growing older and no longer strong enough to carry on the hard work, but not a day goes by without at least one memory of that magical place and the longing that still remains. May you thrive in your new adventure and may you live long, happy lives there.

I don't even know what to say! I found myself choking up because I was just so moved by this property. It's as if the olive trees were standing in pride and respect. Tiny home it's amazing. How flat the land is, the ocean view.

My opinion.... use the stone building as a garage for storage, work-shop. Set-up a cozy camp-site with your van, a make-shift outdoor kitchen & an out-house. Start building the dream house with a pool. Making the stone building habitable will take a year and you will have already outgrown it. Building your forever home would also take a year but if you do the tiny home 1st it will take you TWO yrs! You are a growing family. You'll need space. Don't use your time or re$ource$ on the building out the stone storage house.
Focus on the real dream....your forever home.

Beautiful piece of land. I love the old olive trees. Mom had olive trees in California. They produce on a two year schedule. First year they produce a lot of smaller olives and the next year they'll produce fewer olives, but they're bigger. Sometimes they're much bigger. Mom made sure the tops of the trees were not picked. In the winter, the flesh of the over-ripe olives would turn to oil and the birds loved them. There's not much food for the birds in the winter, so mom's olive trees were very popular.
