I been through this, my government didn't redirect it at me. But still I think ours hit 27 feet, my brother was almost swept away. Our town was covered in mud and smelled like sewage for weeks. Floods are terrible because it takes a long time to fade.

I thought for sure they were going to show the video of “rescue workers” stacking sandbags to hold back flood water in the driving rain. When it turned out that driving rain was another worker spraying them with a hose!

Horrible floods were often one of the signs that the current dynasty might be at an end during Imperial China. Beijing saving itself at the expanse of people we don't know the casualties for only proves the sheer decadence of the CCP.

It's absurd how little coverage this disaster is being covered in mainstream news sources. Great reporting. I won't hold my breath but maybe through spread discussion of this natural and unnatural destruction, global pressure can emerge to compel the state to accept humanitarian help for once... not that I'm convinced the CCP would willingly accept it due to the increased scrutiny of their failures. If anything, discussing this will highlight the enormous cracks in the CCP's stability.

Well I can’t say the government didn’t deserve this but I feel so sorry for the people. I know what it’s like to have your city flooded and it’s a nightmare.
