On July 23, 2021 I was immensely fortunate to have an online conversation with Alan Arkin who was as candid and generous as I could have only imagined. For close to two hours, we sat and chatted about his career and life choices without reservation. We parted as friends and his passing feels as though I've lost someone I've known for a lifetime. What a remarkable career, what a remarkable person.

Alan Arkin has a long outstanding career that encompasses acting, directing, producing and screenwriting. Alan is known for his performances in: The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming (1966), Wait Until Dark (1967), The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter (1968), Popi (1969), Catch-22 (1970), The In-Laws (1979), Edward Scissorhands (1990), The Rocketeer (1991), Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), Grosse Point Blank (1997), Thirteen Conversations About One Thing (2001), Little Miss Sunshine (2006), Sunshine Cleaning (2008) and Argo (2012), in a very partial list of accomplishments.

Alan Arkin has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor twice, for his performances in The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming and The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter. He won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Little Miss Sunshine and received critical praise and a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his performance in Argo.

Love and respect to Alan Arkin. I will never meet him but i am glad i got to know a bit who he is through internet, it's not much out there but, i am really glad i got to see him perform and witness this gentleman 😁.

June 29, 2023 at age 89. I'm binge watching all his movies, even his earliest ones. I think the earliest ones for me, were, The Russians are Coming, then Catch 22. My last one, Little Miss Sunshine.
