Isaac Newton might've been gay, he never married or pursued any romantic relationship with any woman but had a "really strong bond" with a male friend, to the point where he fell into a 2 year depression when he left to work elsewhere. Another theory for his depression is all the mercury poisoning from his alchemy research so take it with a grain of salt.

Actually, like Tesler, Isaac Newton himself was likely gay. He lived with John Wickens for 20 years and the two were inseparable. Later, Newton was involved with a younger Swiss mathematician, Nicholas Fatio de Duillier. When they separated, Newton wrote him love letters giving such glaring cues that Isaac Newton, who was never involved with a woman his whole life was clearly in love with the the much younger Swiss math prodigy.
