One of the things I do like is that despite this partly being a comedic scene, the music never lets up the threatening tone, this is still presented as a scary scene.

Such a good fucking scene. so underrated this movie. Its almost a masterpeice. THe comedy is perfectly executed and doesnt detract form the horror.i like how how sheuffles different languages. Its almost a religious scene.

This is probably one of best bits of worldbuilding I’ve ever seen in a movie.

Especially since at least two of the Egyptian words that are seen for “slave” (as well as some of the Hebrew) can also mean “peasant” or “servant.” Did this pharaoh know about the Exodus? Was he the Pharaoh who slept with Sarah, Abraham’s wife? Was he the pharaoh who Joseph served? Who knows?

I don't think Hebrew has changed that much but i wonder if a person from ancient Egypt would understand a modern person speaking hebrew. i always loved this scene, especially Benny trying to speak the different languages with inflection lol
