Our Year Supply of Organic Food Stores ✨

Whew! I’m ready to hibernate now 😅.

While it’s certainly a lot of work, there’s nothing more rewarding and satisfying than having a year’s supply of organic food tucked away to nourish us in the year to come.

What we aren’t able to produce ourselves, we obtain from local farmers (raw milk, pork) and Azure Standard (bulk grains, nuts, etc.). We’re so thankful for them since we’re not 100% self-sufficient yet, and to be honest, we likely will never be! I enjoy connecting with our local producers 🫶🏼.

It’s been a challenge to figure out where to fit everything since we’re in a 960 sq ft cabin with no basement, but I think we did it.

If you’re short on space too, don’t shy away from getting creative! Put jars under your bed or put a shelf in a guest room. You can do it!💪🏼

That's the way that we should all be living. We should not be relying on the food manufacturers who are doing us harm with chemicals and additives that are harming our children and us. Home grown organic food keeps us much healthier and chemical free

Thats really interesting. Im really unable to manage green grocery for even 2 weeks without it going bad and here you are, saving it and keeping it fresh for the whole year. 🎉🎉

The more I’ve learned about the food industry, the more I yearn to provide for myself. I want to make this promise to myself: the grocery store is secondary. It is a backup, not my main reliance.

Really, it’s actually the last resort. If I’m not raising meat, dairy, or a certain produce item myself, I will go to a local farmer and buy a share before going to the grocer’s.

Support yourself however you can, even if it’s something really small like herbs, strawberries, or tomatoes! And support local farmers/gardeners if you can. Our food has always been meant to come from close to home. Not halfway across the country ❤

I live at an apartment so im not able to do much as far as growing veggies go... but i do go to the farmers market weekly and teaching myself how to can... so i can have a decent pantry for my family... its definitly smaller then yours but still pretty good in size... this is awesome that you can do this foryou and your family!

Keep carrots, beets etc in bins filled with sand in a cold area. Place the carrots, beets, etc in the sand the dame way they grow in the ground. Don't let them touch. Keep all winter.
Keep cabbage wrapped in newspaper in a cold place. Keep turnips in a cold pla e but cover them with wax. Will keep all winter.
