Difference Between Food Science & Nutrition

Food Science & nutrition are sometimes used interchangeably and sometimes, they’re clubbed together. But still, these domains are different.
In this video, Areeb Irshad from Foodtech Simplified has clarified the differences between food science and nutrition, while also briefly discussing which one's better.

Spoiler alert: None of the domain really better than the other. It depends on what you want your career to look like.

Food Science and nutrition both are interrelated. Without knowledge of food composition, u can't make a good diet plan. So if u want to go for a nutrition background u have to know about all food science composition and their nutritive value. But in food science, it's not compulsory to know or study human nutrition diet plan and all kind of nutrition-related disease.

I have done MSc in Food Science and Nutrition.. I'm facing difficulties in getting a job in a food industry.. And also I'm not eligible for govt posts like food safety inspector /officer.

Nice overview, my degree is called B.S. in Nutrition and Food science with a concentration in food science. One important thing that needs to be mentioned though in regards to those interested in nutrition: it's a highly competitive field where you will most likely be competing with registered Dietitians.

Sir why every colleges in india has the course of msc food science&nutrition rather than msc food technology?? Every good university has msc from food science but only few colleges and universities has the course of msc food technology?? Is food science having grater value than food technology course?? I wanted to persue msc from food technology will it be good?
