When you let a British director and german composer do a movie about British vs germans turns out to become a masterpiece

5:00 - in IMAX, when Hardy appears, just made you think to yourself "go on, go fucking get him". 11/10 - go and see this film.

Oh that's fine. I've always wondered what musical anxiety sounded like.

I think the only reason some people were disappointed with this film is because they were expecting battles. Its not really a war film. Its a survival film. Its about MOMENTS that determine if you or others live or die. Theres is not even much character development in the traditional sense. Just moments

This soundtrack is way better after you see the movie and know the context of the scene in which the music is being played

This was probably the most intense scene in the movie. All those young boys trapped in the ocean covered in oil that could go up at any time while those civilian boats tried there best to get them out. If that alone wont convince the academy to give Christopher Nolan a best director Oscar, nothing will.

This film was pretty much "Stress: The Movie"

I realize now over the last few years just how I much I truly underestimated Zimmer's creativity as a composer. I love that tempo change here, and those "sirens" in the music are priceless.

It may not be as good to hear as a standalone as compared to Interstellar's score, but the way it's used in the film and how much it tells the story of the peril and atmosphere of the events, I think this is one of the best score's ever. It gives you chills and anxiety listening to this whilst watching the movie. Outstanding by Hans.

My favorite piece off the soundtrack. Great rendition of that "alarm" sounding motif.

That moment when Farrier (Tom Hardy) in the Spitfire lines up behind the Messerschmitt moments after he decides whether or not to engage as he doesn't have enough Fuel to get home, the score from Hans Builds to a crescendo, Collins (downed Spitfire pilot) on the moonstone saying "Come on get behind him". The tension peaks as the bomber lines up for a second pass. That moment is what Cinema's are made for. Nolan you are a genius!!!! (Hans as well, and of course a shout out to Hoyte van hoytema)

Dunkirk start screening yesterday in Republic of Korea. This movie was totally different war film comparing with past films.

This movie described urgent war-zone situation without huge gunfire scene.

Nolan&Hans Zimmer made Great movie again.

And thank you for upload all ost from Dunkirk.

This, The Mole, The Tide, Variation 15, and Supermarine are the best in my opinion.

I noticed something very interesting. In almost all of nolans films he always includes a very dramatic scene where time is running out. And it's always in the third act. For example in the dark knight when the civilians in the ship are deciding whether or not blow the other ship full of prisoners. Then in the dark knight rises when batman has to carry out the bomb away from Gotham. And in inception when Fischer has to type in the code on the safe before the place explodes. And again In interstellar when Tars has to connect both docks (come on tars!) and finally in Dunkirk in the oil scene soldiers are desperate to get out of the oil so they won't catch on fire and meanwhile Tom hardys character is trying to shoot down the German plane. All these scenes are very similar. They all have the characters racing against time. And the music is very thrilling and suspenseful which makes the audience feel that time is running out.
