- "The tide's turning now."
- "How can you tell?"
- "The bodies are coming back."

The most chilling dialogue in the movie.

Every single song on this soundtrack has some sort of "alarm" sound to it. And it is PHENOMENAL

The film was Glorious, the sound was so loud in the IMAX it vibrated the seat and my chest. The opening scene, The Spitfire dogfights, the bombing on the beach, and that ending "..we shall fight them on the beach..." with the music!

This scene and this music made a french beach look like an alien planet.

The crazy thing was, it was way more intense to me than any other war movie despite showing no blood, the enemy was just an unseen danger except the planes, barely any dialogue, barely any Hollywood-esque emotions unlike e.g. James Ryan. It was all timing, visuals and sound design.

One of the best tracks by Hans Zimmer in one of the best scenes of the whole film. Hopelessness, depression, and pure desperation. Nolan made sure not to sugarcoat how the real evacuation of Dunkirk went and showed how massive of a “colossal military disaster” it truly was as described by Churchill.

It absolutely broke my heart into pieces when I saw that soldier walking up to the tides to swim home...

Definitely my favorite from the soundtrack. It's so cold, eerie and unsettling, but still beautiful.

God DAMN. This score straight up sounds like it came from a horror movie or video game. It screams fear, desperation, despair, and hopelessness. Well-played, Hans Zimmer, well-played.

Sounds like a swelling pain, or an infected wound. This song is so dark it's good. Man, this song went perfectly with this part of the movie. I hope it wins best picture honestly, or best sound editing/mixing.

Waiting, Imagine yourself waiting on the beach day after day knowing the enemy is slowly approaching and will eventually break through the defences. Knowing you are powerless, waiting for your death.

I can see why the man just decided to swim the Channel or at least go out in his own terms.

I cannot help but say
When hearing this type of music I always feel like something bigger is coming

I find imagery of this music truly harrowing.

This music made me feel so stressed. Perfect fit for the situation: death is slowly, rapidly closing in from all directions and the situation seems utterly hopeless. It sounds mechanical, like a machine restricting your space little by little until it crushes you.

This music is so haunting and it fits the scene in the movie so well, just listening to this and remembering the scenes gives me the chills

'the tide' is perfect for it's scene, it feels as if you personally is alone even if your with people. it makes you feel helpless and you know there's an enemy out there but you dont know where and that's the scary part.

Man, the feelings I get from this track are intense. I feel sick, I feel like I could cry, I feel trapped. This is me, and I think of the 400, 000 men with no way out, left with nothing to do but wait for either a rescue or for the Germans to kick down the door. How they must have been feeling compared to me.

I'm so privileged that in Mumbai an IMAX theatre is just a half hour away from my college!
P.S Dunkirk is my first ever IMAX theatrical experience! A fantastic memory to behold....
