No no . Hitler despised chemical weapons because they only killed and didn't destroy. But
if the allies used those abominable weapons first he would retaliate with them. The allies never used them, so they were never used.

I think it more likely that Hitler, having been on the receiving end of chemical weapons in World War 1, decided that he didn't want Berlin to be bombed with the same sort of weapons.

Germans never use such weapons in ww2, cause they didn't need them.
The lightning war tactics, known as "blitzkrieg, " couldn't have worked if they started throwing chemicals cause those chemicals would inevitably halt the armys fast advance.
Also the other nations migth retaliate which would lead to a trench warfare using gasses, something that Germany wanted to avoid after losing the first war.

Their goal in the 2nd was rapid advance of the army and the chemicals couldn't help in that.

Hitler nearly lost his sight in World War I due to a mustard gas attack. This trauma affected him for the rest of his life. Despite Germany possessing a significant arsenal of chemical weapons, they did not use them, unlike the United States, which employed nuclear bombs—both types of weapons being equally devastating.

My theory is that the Germans, particularly Hitler, were reluctant to develop nuclear weapons. Hitler's traumatic memories of mass destruction caused by chemical weapons, which are comparable in their impact to nuclear bombs, likely influenced this decision.

I do not know the validity of the claim but I once read that the Germans had a ‘shortage of trucks’ in WWII and had to substitute the usage of horses and that they had never managed to create a suitable gas mask that horses could use…

One thing, Germans during WW2 still used gas. The gas was used for the gas chamber at death camps. There was no agreement between the Russians and Germans.

Chemical warfare was too slow for the flow of Blitzkrieg. If The second world war had been positional warfare, the gas would've probably made a return.

I dont understand why war has rules they say prolonged suffering is wrong war by itself is prolonged suffering

They mostly did not use gas because they feared retaliation from the Allies and using chemical weapons would only further strain their already thin logistical lines.

yeah of course whenever the allies invents something good like a rocket artillery or a nuke the axis immediately tries to make some agreement

Another reason is the fluid movement nature of the battlefield. The ww1 is static hence easy to deploy it without hitting your own troop

Gas was considered the WMD of the day. With the rise of large bomber aircraft that could attack cities, both sides were extremely worried about mass gas attacks on their cities and neither side wanted to be the one to start it for fear of retaliation, much like today's nuclear weapons

No it’s because of the Geniva or something agreement which states that no chemical weapons schould be used
