It was so traumatising that she eventually followed the white ones who ran away from her.

Tell me again how he "whites" " left the community in shambles" when they actually just left it to you.

Jeezus! What a piece of work. Blaming people for fleeing from drugs, crime, and low morality.

They hate us if we leave. They hate us if we stay. They hate us if we move in. I'd rather be surrounded by my own people if this is the end result.

We moved out of a spiraling neighborhood because my mom got tired of thugs flashing their guns at her 7 year old daughter. White flight- guilty as charged :)

If you move in it’s gentrification, if you move out it’s white flight… 😂😂

7 years I watched my neighborhood crime rate escalate, I didn’t leave because my neighbors didn’t look like me, I left because of the theft crime and the final straw, the gas station attendant on my block got murdered at 2 am ... go ahead call me a racist

Crime had nothing to do with it? Better schools had nothing to do with it? Don’t y’all move out of the hood? Be honest. Why is the neighborhood in shambles? Don’t make me say it....and YES, I’m black.

Michelle I moved from the East side of Detroit 1994, not because of Blacks neighbors but like it or not as the neighborhood changed and there became more Blacks than whites my house became a target first my garage was broken into and I couldn't keep anything in there, after the second time I had to chain my lawnmower to bolts anchors in the floor . They would even steal my garbage cans according to the police to carry my stuff away in. Parts were stolden off my car. My house got broken into twice so I bought heavy-duty security doors. With deadbolts that only opened with keys, I had to have a key to get out or in. When I went away for a weekend and came home to kick marks all over the bottom of the back door, a broken window and the side door to the garage shove open. It was time to leave. All these things happen as the neighborhood turn more Black then white. The biggest reason for the change wasn't white flight unless you call being called home to heaven flight as the older people passed what seems like very nice Black people moved in. But for me, crime seemed to follow you so I moved to a city 95% white only 6 miles away and in 25 years I have never had a problem. So for all you outstanding Black Families I'm sorry but for some reason in my experience crime follows you and there has to be a reason. I felt terrible leaving that house it was the best house I have ever owned. So if thats white flight I can live with it because the next step someone would have been hurt and people would be claiming a different race issue

I am white in Australia, I lived in a community that had a high African refugee, Pakistani and Indian community, the Pakistani and Indian community went on with their business, the African refugees created gangs within the community because they came from war torn places and that all they knew, when the police stopped me on the street to ask me if knew anything about the murder next door, when people were throwing rubbish in the streets, when I realized was living in a food desert with rundown shops, I decided to leave! I don't know the African American situation, but I heard gangs are a thing, no one in their right mind would live amongst gang riddled communities not even you Michelle!

So, she blames Whites for the south side being "in shambles." That's a first. 🤣🤣

My dad moved us when large influx of black people came to the part of town we lived in. It was to dangerous.
