I understand now why Woodie is one of my favourite characters. It feels like you're playing a literal super hero... With the wood helms you have like minimal armor just to survive but you can create idols that transform you into this awesome hulk like create with super vision. With Wanda you just feel like a God most the time. The transformation with clearly defined limitations is what makes Woodie such a unique character to play.

If you don’t want to lose your armour on transform or you held item put them in your inventory instead on your character then use kitch you’ll have your armour and item in your inventory instead of the ground

Fighting Bee Queen the regular way always gave me anxiety (so the tentacle trap was the go to method). I haven't heard yet about the twins of terror cheese. I love the idea and am giggling now eager to try it myself.

Hey Lardee, thanks for making these S Tier guides! They are awesome to watch and also very informative; showing a way to play each character that is distinct from the other. Id love to see an all boss run from you, just like the others would, to see how you would approach CK and CC (maybe the new ones too?) but i understand if you don't want to fight CK, no one really likes fighting Crab King lol.

Woodie was my favorite character long before he was good, but now I could not be happier

I found this (amazing) video late into its lifespan, but I'd like to add these few thoughts here anyway:

1. This video recommends that you should hit enraged dfly 3 times after a stomp, but I've been finding that 3 is too early and almost always gets me hit, while 4 works fairly consistently. For anyone else reading this comment, I'd honestly recommend charging directly away from enraged dfly instead of charging through her for the extra damage. Yes it slightly speeds up the fight by adding in a small amount of chip damage, but realistically it's not going to amount to more than maybe 700 damage or so, and the risk of missing the angle and getting hit is not terribly worth the risk. The margin for error is extremely slim when you can't heal, and you're going to be taking guaranteed damage regardless - I'd rather not throw the fight for a potential amount of damage equating one or two cycles of punches post-enrage.

2. For the Twins, I strongly object to the advice that you should put them in phase 2 by splitting the damage evenly across both twins. I've used the Twins to kill Bee Queen several times since discovering this video, and I've never seen them take more than maybe 1.5k damage from the fight (They only took about 1000 in the video). As there is little risk in them losing to Bee Queen, I find it highly worthwhile to start phase 2 by putting all the damage onto Spazmatism, as he's significantly more difficult for the Weremoose to deal with. Retinazor is much easier to kite with less speed, and the moose is well suited to dealing with the peeper spam, while being capped at 99% speed makes kiting Spaz a crapshoot (for the average player, anyway.)

3. Not necessarily related to the content of the video, but for anyone else watching this later like myself, you can no longer plant on ruins turf, meaning cheesing fuelweaver with treeguard idols is ostensibly off the books.

I always loved the theme of Woodie, but his powers had so many downsides it felt impossible to enjoy his kit. I absolutely love that his idols aren't perishable anymore. They used to have 6 days of spoilage time which was ridiculous. I remember using the cooling backpack to extend that duration and even looked into whether they fit in salt box, but nothing mildly interesting fixed it, only bundling wrap did which required bee queen fight at which the Weremoose had literally no right starting without a friend to heal or some cheese strat that excluded Woodie and his powers. The only real use I remember was rushing Lunar island and locating it with the help of Weregoose, but exploring without option to loot and only getting 40% speed boost for it was a hefty price even in the first few days where movement speed was precious. Not to mention the -20 HP per idol, the prolonged Sanity drain and the Hunger at 0 after turning back to Woodie. You were battling every single stat and unlike Wortox or Wanda there was nothing built in to remedy those downsides. I'm really glad he received these buffs.

pro tip:
if you are playing with somewone else they can use heal salves on the moose to get you out of a tough sittuation
although im not shoure how viable it is since there are better options like using wortox
