That's the mark of a musician who respects the feel and the flow of the music, as opposed to trying to impose their will on it. And awesome solo on his part when he gets the opportunity to expand. Love that little lick that the guitar echos with him. Really talented musician.

Bob James has been truly one of my heroes for many years.. going all the way back to the CTI days.. I just love his style of playing and writing and arranging.. he’s playing one of my favorite songs and it sounds really great.. and then he switches over to play the Yamaha motif which to me sounds like a tin can.. the sound that he had on the Nord Stage 3 was perfect.. I have no idea why he switched over…. When I asked Joe Sample what he thought about that instrument, he said it sounded like the Good Humor Man was coming down his block to sell ice cream.. this truly baffled me listening to this because the melody he was playing on the Nord you heard those deep chords that really filled out nice with a very rich sound and did not have any kind of artificial sound to it..
