Great video! I just finished the book this morning and it left quite an impression. Your analysis helped me understand the characters better, thank you!

The death of Tom Hamilton is what kills me.

Also it is the first time in the Bible that the human emotion of jealousy is introduced when God tells Cain “If you do well, will you not be accepted. And if you do not do well, sin is lurking at the door; its desire is for you, but you must master it”. This is an acknowledgement of the lure of evil which Cain gives into in the very next verse, asking his brother to go with him into the field.

What’s interesting is that there is no real reason given for the rejection of Cain’s sacrifice- reading it indicates that it again is a metaphor for life in as far as the unpredictability of fate- one may be blessed or may suffer, and in suffering or lack, the lure of evil is stronger

Aron and Cal were 17 at the end of the book. So, I wouldn't say they were their own man.

Really good. Would have liked your thoughts on the meaning of the name, East of Eden. It is where Can and Abel went to offer sacrifices to God, since they could not longer enter Eden itself.

I always felt sorry for Cain. He worked his butt off tilling the fields yet Abel just watches the sheep and kills one for God which is pretty easy by comparison. I felt God shouldn't have played favorites because that always makes people sullen, which Abra points out.

Too much time is spent overanalyzing things. All of us, not some are sinners. The only way to become good is through redemption. This is what is almost impossible but possible nevertheless. Fear Good and keep his commandments

Jesus answered, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only One who is good.”
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow.
