In this video, I demonstrate how to combine or merge two or more columns in Excel. There is more than one way to do this in Excel and in the video I demonstrate four different methods:

1) Flash fill
2) Create a formula using the ampersand symbol (&)
3) The CONCAT function
4) The TEXTJOIN function

What happens if the cells you want to merge together aren't sequentially next to one another? How would you write that in the formula? In my case the order is AE2, F2, G2, H2 and M2. Also, how can I add it so that a space is included in between the data?

Thank you for this video. It's very informative. I'm just missing the portion where you are able to copy it down the entire column, specifically for the TEXTJOIN function. would you mind telling how you do so?

I have first name 1, last name 1, first name 2, last name 2... i want to combine them on an invitation so i need to merge a1 and b1 then add the word "and" to link c1 and c2. where there is no second name, i dont want the 'and' to show up. any ideas? example. jim/smith/jane/jones. i want to merge those four into 'jim smith and jane jones'
