I don't think people get how truly smart Batman is here. He purposely attacked Supes with stuff he knew wouldn't hurt Supes at the beginning so that when he used another weapon Supes would think it was yet another useless toy. He caught what he thought was going to be a weak grenade but it was Kryptonite.

In the dark knight rises, Bane says to Batman ‘you fight like a younger man. Admirable, but mistaken.” Meaning that he’s putting all his energy and rage into his attacks thinking it’s best to win, but how he really should fight is fight with strategy and control, not throwing all of your emotions uncontrollably into your punches. In this film, even though this is a completely separate Batman you can tell that as he is older he doesn’t put all his emotions into his hits, he is strategic and his moves are controlled. He doesn’t let his emotions control his attacks

I feel like Bruce didn’t intend to seriously harm or kill Clark with the sound cannons or the machine guns, it was meant as a decoy to make Clark assume that Bruce wouldn’t know what weapons to use against him. Then, when Clark underestimates Bruce, Bruce uses a little canister that is not intimidating in order to trick Clark into falling for it. Brilliant.

Superman feeling the pain after punching Batman’s metal helmet is one of those little details that make me love this movie more and more

I like the fact that a weakened Superman due to kryptonite doesn't hold a candle to Batman's hand-to-hand combat. Goes to show that he just relies heavily on the fact that he's invulnerable and his super strength when fighting at full power.
