#18 - Fractal Computation: consciousness embedded within the universal fractal

In episode 18 of the Quantum Consciousness series, Justin Riddle discusses the potential for a third form of computation beyond digital and quantum computation: fractal computation. In the metaphysical model presented in this series, the body is a digital computer, the mind is a quantum computer, and (now) the spirit is a fractal computer. First off, the concept of a fractal is introduced using examples of recursion, or self-reference, in computer science. Next, evidence for fractal resonance between scales of biology is presented along with some pioneer work that attempts to reconstruct fractal-like resonance within an artificial system. The fractal computer description provides the backdrop by which all quantum systems are embedded – each system interacts with scales that are larger and smaller than it. At the grandest level, each quantum computer is resonating with a web of entanglements at the scale of the whole universe. This framing is similar to David Bohm’s concept of the “implicate order” or “pilot-wave” as well as a Henry Stapp’s description of the wave function of the whole universe. Finally, the episode wraps up discussing some curious scientific findings by Rick Strassman that people tripping on DMT often report communicating with higher dimensional entities. While seemingly absurd, a radical empiricist must explain the origin of such experiences. Could it be that we are indeed plugged into a fractal computer, which could explain some our sense of spiritual connection to a higher purpose? We definitely have some fun philosophical musing in this episode. Enjoy!

Just discovered you, Justin Michael Riddle, and I am stoked! You are taking in a coherent, intelligent and synergistic way about so many things I have thought and wondered about. Your YouTube channel is my new, favorite place to listen and learn. Thank you for everything that you are devoting yourself to in your work!

New listener, definitely needs a replay n watch. That goes for all. Super cool stuff... Deep, a lot to process but you make it fun and easy for someone with attention issues to grasp. Definitely glad you have visuals. All this stuff is awesome.

Wow! Love how you are drawing it all together.

Went to a spiritual teaching 35 years ago titled "worlds within worlds within worlds" and a few years ago I also thought about CS recursive functions. Something like I_Am(v1, V2, ... vn) called from the void which would call itself after low enough entropy was achieved???

Also, n, n DMT leaves the Default Mode Network (DMN), aka the ego, in place so that you are still lost in your projected self reality. If you want to experience the void, ego death, you will need to use 5-MeO-DMT. The DMN is briefly shut down and you seemingly have the experience of nothingness and infinite possibilities.

Thank you for sharing and inspiring. Your presentation has spawned so many ideas in my head which I would like to share as we are in the same field of neuromodulations and neuropsych.

After watching this episode I think I begin to understand the circumstances under which both the intro and the outro music of this series came about.

Anirban is a legend.

He gave me an ultrasound fractal frequency set that felt freaking amazing. He’s a genius.

I think Swedenborg had the idea that angels are literally inside your brain… and I thought the other day- I talk to so many dream people and that sometimes I wonder if the entities all exist in the same realm. Swedenborg had a near death experience that radically changed his science and philosophy. Interesting to think about. So when people say “angels and demons and ghosts are all in your head” they could be right, but with completely different implications.

Have you considered yung and his model of the collective unconsciousness? Or even terrence mckennas videos on bell-non-locality being the origin of the collective unconscious/ imagination. Both you will find deeply informing if you havent seen them already

Love this! Connecting to higher entities: angels, principalities, saints, Jesus!

Bonzo - John Bonham - lived in the Fractal Realm...Get to know this guy
That is what made John Bonham Such a Good Drummer. Fool in The Rain is a classic example.. first of all the beat is polyrhythmic meaning that there are two different rhythms happening simultaneously
one of the rhythms comes from the hi-hat where Bonzo lays down steady triplets opening and closing the hats for emphasis on certain notes
he complements this with ghost notes on the snare notes that are barely audible and more meant to provide a feel to the song than anything else
beneath this comes the second rhythm where Bonzo plays a swung
half-time shuffle on his bass and snare as if the beat wasn't enough the piano and guitar lines are playing in 12-8 time over the 4-4 beat this gives a syncopated triplet feel to the song that's impossible not to get with

Have you ever given thought to the idea that dmt, lsd and the like affects the operational frequency of microtubules and that is the reason why we trip because we're operating at a different frequency... literally.

Fractal computation on the largest scale sounds a lot like Penrose's Conformal Geometry of ever blossoming universes, when the disappearance of any observer capable of measurement makes scale irrelevant, such that the expanded universe at zero temperature in is fact the singularity, ready for another go round.

It sounds like science, but it has too much speculation to be science. It invites you to think -- but think about what??!! In fact, it is a work of religious dissemination, which is worth as much as thinking about Moses in front of the burning bush; or Abrahão before that angel who prevented him from carrying out the brutal act of killing his own son because of a vain belief. And the sensitive-sentimental touch at the end, about taking life, sounds demagogic and typical of religious preaching.
