So basically it's a 100W mobile processor, and the graph is totally misleading as the increased performance came from better gpu.

*Intel 10th gen mobile in a nutshell*
1) Nvidia saved Intel’s ass
2) Asus saved Intel’s with Liquid Metal

*Intel 10th gen desktop in a nutshell* (my prediction)
1) Copper IHS saved Intel’s ass
2) 2, 000W PSU saved Intel’s ass

Here's the problem with Intel's TDP claims, and you yourself have pointed this out before. The way Intel and AMD rate their TDP are different.

Intel rates their TDP at base-clock speed. So if a 10-core Intel i9 10900K at 3.8Ghz will run at 95w with all-cores at base-speed.

AMD rates their TDP at their rated boost-speed. So when AMD rates their R9 3950X at 105w, they mean it when it boosts to 4.7Ghz (and Zen 2 is aggressive at boosting in stock configuration).

Intel, having little-to-no improvement to their 14nm node since 2015 aside from quality of silicon allowing for higher boost and overclock speeds, cannot really improve power efficiency unless they were to cut down on transistor density or the silicon itself.

They are comparing a 7700K and a GTX 1080 to a 10th gen i7 and an RTX 2080? That 50% increase their are talking about is literally just the graphics🤣

That was a 2080 vs a 1080 if i recall correctly! Gj intel

wow they compare their new shiny core i9 to an 3 year old mobile cpu . they're at the depth of desperation aren't they ...

Linus looks homeless despite working from home

In order to reach those claimed 5Ghz+ speeds most of those chips have tdp of 135 f***ing Watts. People should read the fine print in those Intel slides.

I laughed so hard! Intel's marketing strategy could have been featured in a "Community" episode 😂

Linus on AMD rx 590 i'm not reviewing this!!! Linus on Intel 14nm i'm interest to see this, your can expect this for sure!!! =D

Of course, Intel is required to put that data in their slides because the court ruling against them

Who cares about a comparison to random 3 year old laptop? That doesn't say anything, just campare it to a goddamm 9th gen!

The 3 year old system was as follows - Intel® Pentium® Silver processor N5005 vs. Intel® Pentium® processor N3540 (58%) Intel® Pentium® Silver processor N5000, PL1=6W TDP, 4C/4T, up to 2.6GHz, Memory: 2x2GB DDR4 2400, Storage: Intel® SSD, OS: Windows* 10 RS2

I think in a few days, Linus can actually cosplay PewDiePie

someone please do a "new Intel 10th Gen Mobile CPUs" vs "previous intel Gen Mobile CPUs" ???
we don't want to see new CPU compare to 5 or 3 years old CPU.

I tried to buy a laptop last week. Went to three different stores and they were all sold out of almost every laptop.

14 nm. dinosaur technology... lmao Intel.
Meanwhile AMD is ramping up 5 nm. development

its actually an rtx 2070 super m vs a gtx 1070 m in the comparisons

Every single company gives you the laptop / desktop with specific IT settings, apps and monitorings, licences etc. There is no decent company where you would be allowed to use your personal laptop !

It would be interesting to see a real-life test on thermals and battery life. I do not think this improvement of Intel will be viable solutions for the heavy workload on battery (for example I do edit pictures in PS and LR which could draw a battery quite fast if CPU is not efficient).
