Intel’s CES announcements weren’t just about the new Arc GPU, but it may just be the most exciting one thanks to its unique opportunity to shake up Nvidia and AMD’s hold on the market.

I find it very interested how Intel has changed from talking about their "competitors" to actually naming them in the graphs. Good confidence and likely, when something doesn't pan out, the Engineer at the head will help steer them in the right direction.

What’s crazy to think is that this is the perfect opportunity for Intel to enter the market. The lack of supply means that they don’t even need to compete with products like the RTX 3080. In all honesty, they could release a GPU that performs on par with a 2060, and if it’s available and affordable, it will sell like without any issue.

When I was programming OpenGL and OpenCL for Intel's integrated graphics from 2018 I was surprised at how fast it was. For raw computation they are pretty well suited, and the only killer is the bottleneck of not having GDDR memory so you have to use low res textures for everything, but it could move vertices and shade pixels like crazy. I'm cautiously excited that Intel's dedicated GPU's could be very competitive in the GPU market.

All Intel has to do is to have a shitload of stocks for the GPUs and actually price them decently to earn the respect of the consumers. What a perfect time to enter the market!

Honestly, this really is the perfect time to open up LTT labs (or whatever the naming was). Lots of competition means details are paramount! I hate not being able to pay for this stuff.

I can't lie, the code-name "Alchemist" is such a fucking cool name. This product better live up to it's name!

I really hope that Intel comes in swinging. I also hope that Intel isn't hinging their GPU hopes on their new fabs which will take years to get operational.

I just hope Intel's gonna provide open-source drivers for these GPUs.

We really need more mid range GPUs right now... really hoping this can fill that gap.

I've got high hopes for Intel over the next few years. I'd be ecstatic if Intel can pressure Nvidia to start making desktop CPUs. All 3 chip makers making both CPUs and GPUs would be amazing.

This is their best chance to carve out a piece of the gpu market for themselves imo. If they can actually keep up with demand the cards could stay at or around msrp which is a game changer at this point.

If they can pull this off, they will be hailed as superheroes by gamers all over the world. I'm personally really excited not just at the chance to finally get a decent GPU, but also to see more competition and innovation in the industry space.

It would be a strange thing to have an AMD CPU and Intel GPU but if it makes sense from a performance to dollar ratio, I'm down to party.

Few days ago I heard Intel is more confident now than ever. They're working on literally everything they suck at and that's a Good news for those whom want competition.

Let's hope we can get these at or near MSRP

Mad props for the explanation of different CPU SKUs. Seriously, this is confusing AF, yet it was presented clearly.

I'm so excited to finally have a second GPU manufacturer that has (hopefully) great Linux drivers. I'm so sick and tired of nVidia's bullshit.

This year looks really exciting for PC gamers.

Let's be honest, 2021 was a bad time to be a PC gamer.

As much as I've wanted an AMD chip, I'm probably going to go with Intel, since they've actually managed to release a lower-end chip. That i3 12100F in particular is looking quite sweet if it stays near MSRP
