So it sounds like cold exposure is best done in the AM, before resistance training.

I dont quite understand why you do not discuss the most critical factor in this consideration: the time between resistance exercises and CWI. You even displayed one of the studies specifically investigating this (2:47). Your recommendation to have at least 12 hours between resistance exercises and CWI is over the top, as the clear correlation in the scientific literature indicates that about one hour gap between the two is sufficient to avoid the undesirable interactions.

Practically, this suggests that one should fill the time between the last resistance exercises and CWI with about one hour of active recovery exercises (light mobility/stretching, cardio, as well as heat exposure) and then go into CWI.

Been taking 7 minute cold showers for 6 years! So glad I found this video and accidentally too. I wont be taking them after weight training... I think it explains some of the problems I am having now. I will only take them once a day in the morning. Thank you. Subscribed!

Great nuanced discussion here! Would you PLEASE do a brief talk about how to best incorporate alcohol into one's training regimen (don't judge us beer-drinking gym bros here 😁) for those that drink occasionally on or off training days. I read some studies indicating it interferes with MPS but affects younger athletes more. IF (being the middle word of life) one was to drink, how best to do it?

We need to know how much (%) of loss in strength gains and hypertrophy gains. It could be tiny differences that don't deserve our worries IDk

And what about joints inflammation is it better to put ice after workout to avoid inflammation on joints to avoid injuries? Since I had shoulder tendonitis .. Etc been searching alot and this subject is making me dizzy 🥴

After a game Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Gibson use to soak his arm in ice water to help him recover to pitch every fourth day. Gibson usually pitched until the game was over. That probably shortened his career by several years.

Before training you should prepare your self mentally to crush it!! After training you should not fall apart on your way home. And long before or after that do all of your recreational stuff (cold/heat/yoga etc). That’s freaking logical 🧐
