Update: Texas Cop Watcher Arrested Again. #PAR #shorts

Quick update from Journalist Taya Graham on the status of cop watchers in Texas whose first amendment rights are again under siege by local aw enforcement.

WTF? Jailed again? I commend the cop watchers out there for the courage to keep up the fight to hold bad cops accountable. As a retired cop, I applaud their efforts. If cops are transparent and doing their jobs appropriately, the cameras will not bother them.

We need to change the culture - As a rookie, I reported a cop who kicked a cuffed-up kid in the face. He received 6-month suspension. I was lambasted for years. Including death threats, rats placed in my home trash can with the word "RATBOI" written on a note. Officers keying their microphones when I would call for help, so nobody could hear me. All officers got up and walked out of roll call several times upon my arrival. Retired now and the only thing I would do different is, I would arrest the cop who kicked the kid in the face!

Start investigating these cops go back in the past they must have something to hide expose them for crimes or go on your merry way

This guy sounds like he as they say "puts his money where his mouth is"!
Its tough to take an arrest instead of giving in like they want you to and just walking away!
Sad thing is they know they are going to inconvenience you and cost you some time and money.
Knowing they are likely to get away with it when they know they are wrong because they will be protected by qualified immunity, sympathetic judges to dismiss the case, and prosecutors refusing to file charges against them!

The police across the country have demonstrated the need to police the police. It would be great if they were beyond the clutches of authoritarianism, but clearly, they need help keeping on the right side of a free country.
