Nine years ago my sister who always had been healthy had a hard swollen stomach with pain. She thought she maybe constipated and nauseated decided to go to Emergency. She went and throughout the day did various tests on her. That evening the Dr told her she had stage four colon cancer and that "It was incurable and inoperable". Those were his words to us. She was only 49 with two kids. She started chemo a few weeks later but it didn't help much. She lived for almost 2 years and passed away at the age of 51.
Our mom had colon cancer when she was 37 many years ago. It eventually spread to her stomach and liver. She had surgery chemo and radiation. There was us 4 kids that she took very good care of us even though she was so sick. She passed away when she was 42.
I have had a swollen tummy with pain and nauseau for quite awhile now with other symptoms but have put it off because of covid. My Dr finally referred me to a specialist and to have a colonoscopy done. The Drs are so back logged here in 🇨🇦 so not sure how long I will have to wait. In my heart I feel this doesn't look good but am praying for the best.
Please get checked ev1, early diagnosis is the key to survival❤️‍🩹. Praying for all that struggle with this horrid disease...

This same thing happened to my son's girlfriend, she was having pain that was diagnosed as diverticulitis, when she had a CAT scan done they found a large mass in her colon with tumors spread to her liver and lungs. Full blown stage 4 at 50 years old. She was told same when she asked about colonoscopy a couple of years ago, "you're too young". We're praying for the best.

Worst part of this cancer is the tiredness, weakness all over. Every single day and night I'm exhausted to the point of passing out often. It already feels like I'm dying. Try to imagine not sleeping for 5 days and running 20 miles. That's how it feels all the time.

Live well and live your best, my friend. Anyone out there, get a second opinion. Don’t let a doctor deny you the screening you have a right to. My long time boyfriend was diagnosed with an ulcer. He got a second opinion. He had stage 2 pancreatic cancer. He died a year later at 48. Push for your rights, people.

Husband diagnosed stage 4 colon cancer in 1994 after he served 20 years in USAF and retired. I was devastated and could not believe the cancer was overlooked by yearly physical examinations over 29 years in military. He died in 1997.

Always advocate for yourself! You can direct the doctors on what testing you want. We are the customers with the insurance!

Thanks to colonoscopies starting at 40, mine was caught VERY early, at pre-stage 1. I elected to treat it very aggressively and have no trace of the big "C". I watched my mother and grandmother die of colon cancer and thanks to my better decisions, history will not repeat itself. Colonoscopies are NOT fun, but they are infinitely better than a horrible fight with cancer! Best wishes to Hendrix. Heal soon, brother!

A lot of people don't go for the colonoscopy because you need someone to take you home and a lot of people don't have that. I wish him the best outcome.

I’m so tired of hearing doctors tout, “your too young”, that 6 months could have made the difference between a good outcome and a bad outcome. Im 25 and have back issues, I remember when I first went to see a doctor for back pain when I was about 18, and it was just dismissed as muscle pain and I was given muscle relaxers. Fast forward 8 years later and I have 4 level degenerative disc disease. Had that same doctor take the time to properly diagnose me and educate me on spinal health, I don’t think I would be having as much issues that I have now. Medical gaslighting is a real thing and I firmly believe it’s just doctors who are lazy and refuse to do their due diligence for their patients.

A common sad story in America. Out of the 40 richest countries in the world, America is the only country that operates a health care system based on profit. 7 thousand Americans die every day(before the pandemic started) 2.5 million a year.

It’s because a lot of doctors don’t care or don’t believe your symptoms. Especially if you are a young women.
