LBT – P.S. – O úspechu [punk rock, Slovakia 1982]

After more than 10 years of making mainstream pop music Ľubo Belák founded his new band "LBT" (Ľubo Belák Team) and came back to the rock music, where he started from during 1960´s in the band "The Players". "LBT" released only few SP´s and one LP. In 1970´s Czechoslovakia were huge restrictions against rock music as the “Western propaganda”. At the turn of 1970´s and 1980´s it has slowly changed. Rock music was much more often played on the radio. Soon, next to the mainstream rock music also more progressive subgenres of rock appeared. The only album of "LBT" is conceived musically as underground (in Czechoslovak conditions of course) with lyrics closer to the youth. It´s full of metaphoric anti-system phrases and revolt against apathetic adults who don´t want to understand their problems. It´s just a miracle that this LP wasn´t banned, because censors used to have bigger problems with every word that should have also “the second meaning”. It´s even more surprising that the last song of this album with the name “P.S. – O úspechu” shows off all signs of punk music, that was completely banned in Czechoslovakia due to its very rebellious context. This LP is today very valued as the first Slovak hard-rock album, which was pressed only in few hundreds of copies.
