Holy crap, that Ash impression was legitimately great.

"If they're anywhere near as incompetent as the people who make the games at Game Freak, then Palworld will be just fine" couldn't have said it better myself

The Ash impression came without a warning and it was amazing.

"Palworld is like 2 in the pink, one in the stink" Well that's sure one way to put it.

When I saw Deprsso mining for the first time, I can hear We all lift together started playing.

The best comment about gamefreak and Palworld I saw was, “Imagine owning the Vaporeon IP for 20+ years and not making a dating simulator”.

I hated cooking and crafting things, but what I learned is you have to have Pals do that for you. Keep them fed, keep them bed, tell your base pals to craft while you go do more exploring, then come back to your stuff already made

Your experience is entirely different from my girlfriend and I's experience.
We were going out of our way to make sure those cute little pals were not stressed out while they kept the base running. Hottubs and fluffy beds, swapping them out as much as possible.
Not to mention that there's so much excess food you get from berry and wheat farms that I literally never once had to butcher a pal for food. The ranch was basically just a palsphere, arrow, gold, and flame organ farm because vixy, flamebelle, and mau would just constantly produce it while chilling in there.
I did end up catching a syndicate thug just because all the people who talk about this game rant and rave about "catching people and forcing them to work" but I immediately realized just how utterly trash the people are in this game both in terms of combat capabilities and in terms of work ability. And I literally never had the desire to go around catching people again.
Most of my time was spent exploring, catching new Pals, and building a grandiose base.

This game was no where near as "Dark and edgy" as pretty much every youtube creator makes it out to be.

You have the capacity to be an absolute monster if you choose to, but lots of games allow that and we don't cause an uproar over those.

This game feels like Pokemon, ARK, Monster Hunter, and Animal Crossing, all had one giant fever dream baby.

the syndicate death sounds is the best part of the game hands down.

I played solo and it was an impressively stable experience for early access. (Again, in the *single player* version of the game.) I played about 60 hours and had a lot of fun with it and I'll probably play again when they stabilize the multiplayer. Definitely worth $30, though.
I only had a couple problems.
Pal pathing was wonky and I would have pals escape my base and have themselves locked outside, where they would starve and develop mental health disorders. Or they'd trap themselves on top of things, where they would starve and develop mental health disorders. It was pretty easy to avoid once I started looking for the starving pal icon by calling them back to the pal box.
My primary base stopped getting raided after I beat the first tower and my secondary/tertiary bases were on mountains, so when they were raided the enemy NPCs were never able to reach the base and just despawned. This basically made it so I never had to replace the wooden walls around my base or the stone I made the base out of, removing any need for the building progression tier.
Finally on one occasion, I teleported to an NPC town and several of the NPCs spawned in floating high above the ground. They subsequently fell to their death and I was murdered by angry city guards for the crime of being a witness.
Nothing else of note happened to me. I actually felt confident enough in the game to install a few mods, like the one that lets you remove stamina cost for flying and another that doubles the amount of technology points you get per level up, so you'll actually unlock all the available technology when you reach maximum level. (Instead of having to farm out the skill books.)

None of the other Pokemon-likes plays remotely anything like Palworld does: most of them rely on Pokemon's tried and tested turn-based battle format with capturing and raising. Palworld does all of that in a fully real-time world: you're not waiting your opponent to make their move, then you having to do the same out of menus, you see your Pals attack and move around in in real time while you're also contributing to the fight via your firearms. As many people point out, it's more of an Ark clone than a Pokemon clone, just replace the dinosaurs with cute cartoony creatures.

I REALLY enjoyed this video. Don't get me wrong, Matt's multiple-day edits are amazing, but it's just as fun to see you guys chatting and joking with each other in a setting like this. And if that means you can stress out a little less while doing it, that's even better! Now let me watch that ad-read again so y'all can get paid the big bucks.

We need to talk about how you not only know what a Rolodex is, you have one as a prop. 🤯

We need a Helldivers 2 video, pleeease. I think you both will love it. It's one of the most fun games that i have played in a looong time, proper "rule of cool" fun.

the funny part is that Palworld is still in early access and yet it is fun ass hell compared to AAA games nowadays.
