officer Farrell of the Hillsborough police department arrives on scene.
The officer returns to his vehicle as Dog Dog continues to wait. He’s told the officer that the area is visible on Google Maps, and that they don’t drive on private property to take pictures. This is partly true.
The Santa Rosa Press conducted an investigation and quickly found over 100 private roads that had been photographed in their area. Noting one home that was photographed was over 1200 feet from a public road and passed 2 no trespassing signs to obtain the images.
Google told the newspaper that even though it has the right to photograph from private roads, it tries to avoid it.
Google spokesman Larry Yu says "Our policy is to not drive on private land," and added that the company hires local drivers who are given specific routes to follow. But Yu retracted that statement when he was made aware of a driver who said he was told to just drive around the county and collect images.
Google's claims to be legally allowed to photograph on private roads comes from its assertion that privacy no longer exists in the age of satellite and aerial imagery. In response to a lawsuit by a Pittsburgh couple whose home was photographed and published Google said quote “Today's satellite-image technology means that...complete privacy does not exist,"
One of the Fathers of the internet, Vint Cerf, also said in a separate statement, That "There isn't any privacy, get over it."
Regardless, even if this road was private, Dog Dog was invited on by an owner. A few moments later, the officer returns.
Kent v Dulles is a Supreme court Case which held that “The right to travel is a part of the "liberty" of which a citizen cannot be deprived without due process of law under the Fifth Amendment.”
There is much more to the case and its ties to McCarthyism that don’t pertain to this incident, but I’ll link it down below.

Anytime a cop is speaking to you, you are being interrogated.

“According to the caller” That’s hearsay. Some anonymous person called, and then talked to someone else, who then talked to you. you’ve investigated you see no crime, now move along officer. 😎

I’ll never will understand why people feel the need to Thank the Police for harassing them at the end of an encounter. In my book they’ve earned a good cussing not a Thank You.

2 cops for a parking issue, yet he’s the one accused of, ‘wasting everyone’s time’

Pigs will never just say: "Looks good to me! Have a great day!". Nope, they have to make a big deal of it and threaten to arrest and beat down.

The police have no authority re parking on private party.

That supervisor was not professional - he wouldn't entertain for one SECOND that his officer had no right to ask for that young man's id. He was dismissive and rude.

The officer was also blocking a driveway, double standard. People calling in to report suspicious behavior should be held responsible for false calls that could endanger innocent citizens

Who ever called the police, should mind their own business.

If everyone called for a suspicious person we would be calling on almost everyperson.

If only the cops were smart enough to realize their assertion that he was on private property nulifies their authority to enforce parking disputes.

if i am not mistaken, the cop cannot tell you to move / leave unless the owner of the property tells you to leave

We gotta start being able to confront the people who make these calls

I'd be more annoyed that I'm waiting that long for someone.

Best advice I every heard (and I don't dislike cops): "Anything you say to a cop will NEVER be used to help you." Sad, but true.

Mistake #1: Never lower your windows.
Mistake #2: Never answer questions. (He refused a couple then answered a few.)

This is amazing. Someone had to watch him pull up, called the police immediately, and the officers arrived in record time. Tell you what, they better not be making me camp in front of their house. They better be ready when I get there. He parked, had cops called on him, talked to an officer, waited for a sergeant to show up, moved his car and dude still in bed? Forget that, I'm out.

The Sarge was not professional when he accused him of wasting people's time.

In most states, when you are in the car waiting for a passenger or loading and unloading goods, you are considered "standing" and not parked.

"Yeah, that's no issue, if they want to get out I can just move." The cops brain shirt circuited.
