In Part 1, I'll share with you some thoughts on money, packaging, card stock and the fluff of selecting decks.

I can see I'm very late in commenting, but I have to say how much I enjoyed this. What a great Friday chat, and how varied everyone's opinions are on this subject. Me? I'm a total heathen when it comes to card stock and boxes. It really doesn't matter to me, except that I do hope companies wake up about the environmental impact of plastic as well as extra packaging. For me, it's all about the art, subject and color.

This was great to watch. Looking forward to next Friday. Totally agree about the boxes and card stock of US games. Such a shame, I trimmed the dreaming way and can't shuffle because of the lousy cardstock too. Great video!

Hi Sadhana, Thank you for talking about what you like or dislike in tarot/oracle decks. I realize that my preferences are so much different from yours. I like to riffle shuffle, but not a deal breaker if the cardstock is thick. It is funny how I get to learn about my own preferences through collecting tarot decks. I don’t enjoy working with thin cards. I love the rose petal finish. I like to work with cardstock that’s at least 330 gsm. I love linen cardstock as well. It is good to hear other people’s different preferences. Thank you for sharing yours. I look forward to watching your next video.

We have very few of the same opinions on decks. I love holding & foil. I don't mind large boxes. Cards are expensive enough, so it's rare I'll buy a book that doesn't come with the deck. It's unfortunate, but true. also I love thick card stalk. I can riffle then gently without a problem.
I have both inner child editions, the 1st is much better, but the second is the same as many other decks I own ( I have 60 tarot & oracle decks), I think it's just how large it is.

I keep missing you! I looked it up and it's thumb cut boxes, sorry it's not one word! Interesting how not riffle shuffling makes all the difference (my hands just can't do it!) in what cardstock you like. I also find card size makes a difference--I like smaller decks for my small hands or elongated decks like Corte di Tarocchi. Thanks for sharing your preferences!

Loved hearing your preferences, and I agree with a lot of them. 💕 Do you mind sharing where you got the clear acrylic stand (to your right) that you keep your decks in?? When I say I have ✨freaking searched high and low✨ before asking… 🙈

Hi Sadhana, love your videos. Just a tech question. Is your camera set up on your table? The picture jiggles, I think, when your table moves with your movements. I wonder if the camera was stable on a stand that this might help. If this is not the case please ignore. I’m just so sensitive to the bouncy visual movement. In my country (Czechia, EU), the import tax and/or customs duty depend on the value (aka price of the product + postage) of the package. Based on this information, you can calculate online whether/how much you will have to pay extra or not. It also depends on whether the package includes a personal gift or if it's for business purposes. Unless the company takes care of the import taxes itself, it doesn't matter which company delivers it, the fees are set by the country. If this is not the case in Canada, then the unpredictability really sucks. 😞

Pro tip... If you pay for anything with PayPal and don't get it... You have 180 days to make a dispute with PayPal.... They tend to side with the customer... They will pay you and chase the seller...
