Tarot for Beginners: How I Use Tarot Cards for Self Discovery & Guidance

Let's talk about tarot! I've been asked about my tarot routine & how I do tarot readings for myself, so here I'm sharing my basic tips to help you get started. I'm still a tarot beginner—everything I learned was from my podcast interview with Biddy Tarot, her book and my own personal practice. But tarot has been a fun tool to use for self discovery & guidance when I need it. You'll see how tarot can be a tool to strengthen your intuition and understand what your inner voice is really saying.

I grew up in a Christian family and these things are to be considered "evil" because they say it's witchcraft. But after watching videos of tarot readings for a month, I came to realize that it's not evil at all. I actually enjoy it because it guides me through my decisions in the future. So yeah, I'm tryna buy my own tarot cards now 😄

I did a tarot reading for a friend (I'm very new to tarot) and she said I basically told her what her therapist had said to her. Mind you, she hasn't spoken to me about any of her sessions with her therapist so I was kinda shook on how accurate the reading went.

As someone who has had tarrot be a big part of his life, from my great aunt to my mother to myself; it's a fantastic way to hone your inner wisdom.

We are capable of many great things, and we are capable of overcoming more than we give ourselves credit for. So using tarrot is a great way for the world around you to help guide you in the right direction. It helps by speaking in a launguge only you will understand. Even if you dont feel you do.

With practice one can learn to ground themselves, block out the noise of the battling energies around us, and listen to the simple truths that have been whispering to you all along. Thank you SO much for sharing this!

This is a very.. weird subject for me.

Growing up Christian. I was raised to believe that this "Magic" was to be avoided at all costs.

Now that I have grown, discovered myself, and figured out what these things are truly meant for. They have opened my eyes in so many ways.

I went out to my nearest Crystal Shop and bought Tarot cards as soon as I watched this. It has given me a sense of happiness that I'm really thankful for. Anything that will help remind me, of how strong and capable I am, as well as my mind. ❤

Not everyone reads the cards reversed. You can do it in whatever way works for you. So spot on in using your Intuition. I use Tarot cards everyday for myself in the morning and it's changed my life! Love how you do this.

I feel what you say about choosing a deck. It’s almost like wizards choosing a wand. It chooses you. The art is what describes you and your personality
Edit: I just bought my first deck, and what you said about journaling it sounds actually fascinating: describe how you feel about the cards itself, what you think it means, almost like a diary

I come from a Christian household. I hide my oracle cards, Lenormand, and tarot. My family doesn’t know that I use them, and thankfully they respect my space and privacy. I’d almost rather they find my adult toys, than my tarot cards just because I know they’d say I’m worshipping the devil, but at least with adult toys it’s not quite as “evil” 😅
