gotta say I much prefer the Rode wireless mic setup I have (a LOT more flexibility) and the Smallrig GoPro cage which adds just as much functionality for a sizeable fraction less.
I'm not mentioning the micro HDMI port as I'll never use it. I did a fair bit of research into what _would_ work for my situations and what _might_ work, and cost was a big factor. for something proprietary like the GoPro media mod, you're always gonna pay more. caveat emptor.

I was using it on a tripod; the battery doesn't last long enough with the Media Mod Mic so I had to plug in the power but have to keep the battery in the GoPro for it to work; after a while, it overheated and everything stopped. So I stopped using the Media Mod Mic. Technically, it seems to me that we should be able to connect the Media Mod Mic to electricity, then let the GoPro work with its battery..., but for that you would have to make a modification to the M.M.M.

hello, I took the ssm GoPro Hero 11 Black Creator Edition, but when I connect the volta and the media mode, the sound somehow echoes through the media mode, and when I take it off, I record only with the camera with a softer sound, so I'm interested in why I hear the sound ringing with the media mode???

Media Mod is crap, only works 1/2 time not available in activity mode. sometimes ext mics work, most of the time not

Do not buy the media mod, it drains the battery within only a few days, they need to recall them and fit an inline on/off switch to cut power from it when the gopro is switched off

Is this some kind of joke? The official GoPro head strap isn't compatible with the media mod... I just bought the media mod because the sound on the GoPro is terrible. I expected to be able to use the back mic setting on the media mod and then use my head strap with the GoPro, but it doesn't fit. So you basically can't have good sound and use a head strap if you choose GoPro. Absolutely ridiculous considering most people use a head strap. The funny part is that it almost works, but in order to mount it properly the camera needs to be facing down.

On the hero 10 it rarely works with an external mic and also refuses to charge while in the mod, avoid at all costs, bad design with too many faults and flaws
