I put it on looping mode, stop recording after I have caught a fish, i caught 5 fish, shouldn't I only have 5 sections that recorded plus the last one. I end up with 60 or 70 sections. I took it off looping and just recorded all day long thinking I would have only 1 section, again, 60 or 70. What am I dong wrong?

Awesome man! Those first two tips are GREAT! I find the touch screen on the 9 very finicky. One touch to be able to change shot setting will help and even more huge, just using the mode and record buttons together to switch shooting modes without using the crappy touch screen at all and I can do it with light gloves when conditions are unfriendly! Big thanks Buddy!

Just finished recording a three day project:

Gopro is not what it used to be. I dont think its on par with the knockoffs on Amazon or Alibaba. It will cut recording on you randomly with no warning, beeps, nothing.

The sound quality is poor, even with the media mod. It will need an external mic.
The Gopro light is a joke unless youre recording 5 inches away.
The stabilization is HORRIBLE. Talk about random jitters. It will be smooth, then go fuzzy shaky every so often, anytime its moved. So tripid only seems to be ok.
HEVC is nonesense. Yes, force people to pay for more software that licensed this proprietary codec...because why not.
It will overheat, but at least then it will beep, but it does overheat A LOT.
Changing the battery with the media mod on is a pain in the butt. You must remove everything off it. Also, batteries dont last long at all, not like the older models.

IT WILL CUT YOUR RECORDINGS WITHOUT A BEEP OR ANY NOTIFICATION. Yup, you think you just recorded something great, you get home, and the file cuts abruptly. It made me lose 3 days of recording because of this. Everything else that does work is marginal at best. Settings are clumsy, colors are bland (as usual with older ones too), design is very poor regarding the battery, accessories, etc.

And Gopro recommends Handbrake to covert their videos, which, firstly, wont convert to anything usable. Sure, it will play but with so many skips and repeats that it looks like a bad 80s montage. On top of that, it is a program that was known to have a nasty virus (fine, technically a trojan). I tried it, and it deleted all my System Restore point, and turned it off. Messed with my registry bigtime, etc. WHY ARE THEY RECOMMENDING something so risky? If Gopro stopped spending millions on promotion and just made a good product, then I wouldnt be writing this. Instead, they not just lose a sale, but deal with the return of all items I got from them.
