MikroTik LTE firmware upgrading

How to upgrade the LTE modem firmware in your MikroTik LTE device? Like this.

There are occasions where it’s not possible to upgrade this way using your LTE provider. Is there another upgrade path similar to the router upgrade? If so, how is this done and if not, why not?

Is the firmware included in the ROS file or is it being downloaded from the internet, when the upgrade button is clicked?

If it is downloaded, is there a way to manually install it, if no internet is available at the moment?

I have a LtAP mini LTE US Kit and I can never upgrade the modem firmware. the modem is R11e-LTE-US, When I check the firmware, there is a newer version v05.04.193841 but if you press "Upgrade Firmware", then it lost the connection to internet. Anyway to solve it ? I am running now RouterOS v7.2.3, and it has been a long time that I cannot upgrade the modem firmware.

I have LtAP mini and i have a internet wwith wifi and bridge all interface but cant upgrade the LTE Firmware allways appear "couldn't start - device must be in running state (6)"

Have you successfully applied a firmware update to a Quectel RM502Q-AE in an RBM33G using this method? I haven’t tried yet & I’m a little nervous about doing so as the router is atop a tower with limited access. Thanks in anticipation of your responses.

okay i have the chateau lte6-us, and when i got the device it would not connect to att while all my other mikrotik devices do with no problem.. all the settings are correct and ive done the router os update to the latest one but still no connection.. it says it needs the modem update but with it not connecting to the network it will not do it.. now i pull that same sim out and put it in my lhg lte6 kit and it works right away as well in my lhgg lte6 kit.. ive also had this same issue with a lhgg lte18 kit and ended up returning it because we thought it was a faulty modem but clearly its not bc this it the exact same issue down to the T. ik its not a issue on my end and it is clearly a issue with the firmware or hardware... i need some sort of guidance here on what steps may be taken bc i really would like to update this modem firmware and see if it fixes my problem.

So what do you do if you don't have internet on your LTE connection. ??
we running a secure Private APN, so my devices don't have access to internet.
and I can't find a file to download for the LTE upgrade.

My STX LTE was working perfectly until I upgraded both the router and the OS. Since, my connection is just rubbish, from 90+Mbps, to around 35 or less. Same sim card in any phone goes over 100 indoors. The router in sin direct line of a near tower. I have keept upgrading hoping for the performance to return, but that did not happen.

Today I changed for a new sim operator finding that when in my phone, the old sim is ultra fast. The new phone company sim is equally slow in the STX.


My advice, one person sample: if it does work, don't mess with it.


I am not a 100% sure if this was the OS or the modem, but the result is the same, this device is terribly bad now.



I wish there was an easy way to downgrade everything back.

This a joke really? I don't have the option as shown -where is the part to tell us what to do if the option button does not exist? this video feels like its more marketing than engineer help? Also there are no responses to help the commentators below on their problems -yeah this feels like a Marketing effort why bother when the information is incomplete in several ways? What about the CLI through Winbox? That was my only option I had?
