I was under the impression that Dr. Strange only managed to make a time loop in the dark dimension because there was no concept of time there. Also there is no evidence that vision exists in the 838 universe. The way I see it the mind stone is used to power Ultron in that universe, also reinforced by their yellow lights, the same way the space stone might have been used to power Mr. Fantastic's portal.

Also an option, Strange can create illusions of himself, and Reed is holding what looks to be Strange's cape in that scene. A blue cape, that could have been used to patch up our good Doctor's cape...

You lost me when you started talking about Clea. Clea is Dormammu's niece, so if Dormammu is merely a variant of Dr. Strange, then Steven and Clea's relationship and eventual marriage becomes very questionable.

It's just odd they left the stones on Thanos. First thing that should have been done, regardless of the death certificate, is to take all his weapons away.

I don't think the 838 Strange had the Time Stone to begin with. He doesn't wear the eye or he could have done the same as 616 and looked at possible outcomes. Having the mutants and the FF in 838 would have changed everything. All the stones could have been held in totally different places than the 616 universe.

Anybody noticed when Reed Richards quoted 838 Doctor Strange said "things just got out of hands"? In the first trailer of the movie, the one who said that line was Sinister Strange. Perhaps there's a connection between the two? Could it be 838 Doctor Strange transfered his consciousness to Sinister Strange with his 3rd eye? 🤔

I doubt dormomu is a variant of Dr Strange but what I do think could happen is we get introduced to the version of strange that is mixed with dormomu. This is a cannon character and also very powerful so it would make sense to bring him in as a DS villain.

we're also forgetting the fact that since all the darkhold books are destroyed, the only copies are in the minds of our Strange and the 838 Strange since they have photographic memory as revealed by Strange himself in the first part.

Eh they could make Dormammu a Strange variant, but I think it would be pretty criminal to make him a former human instead of an otherdimensional being made of pure energy like he’s supposed today. Also the Dark Dimension is another plane of existence so closer to the shit we saw in Moon Knight than Multiverse of Madness. It’s not a “super different Earth” but another plane superimposed on top of 616 Earth. I also like the idea of 838 Strange being alive in a similar way to how Classic Loki survived. But not when it leads to him somehow becoming Dormammu - a being that was completely unfamiliar with the concept of time until Strange introduced it to him.

I think there's a huge prolem with this which is that when Dr. Strange used the time stone against Dormamu, BOTH of them went back in time. Using the time stone after being blasted away in this case would have almost certainly just brought everyone back to Titan to see Strange sitting there again

The thing is Dormammu being a Doctor Strange variant is very unlikely since in the first Doctor Strange movie when Strange used the time stone for loop, Dormammu was visibly confused against the consept of time and Strange explained him that he brought "the time" from his dimension.

Interesting theory..I think strange and mordo were friends in this universe and strange didn’t use the time stone due to mordo’s views of using it..they were able to beat thanos so there was no need to give the time stone over to him..he probably searched for ways to win and that was his 1 way to win was with the dark hold..that way the blip wouldn’t happen

but if you think back to the first encounter with dormmamu, Original Strange used the time stone to create the loop. If dormmamu was Dr strange 838, why would he not recognize the time stone that original strange used? He says, What is this? Illusion? after the 2nd loop

Even if not originally considered in the grand Kevin Feige plan it'd be a great retcon to bring him back.
