I feel like Doctor Strange basically beat thanos himself using the dark holds powers and maintaining his reasoning. This scared them so they convinced him to allow them to kill him so he would die a hero before he became a villain. Which I call bullshit because he basically did all the work and had to die so that they could have their illusion of peace.

fun fact they re-wrote the script 33 times. In the original draft Bruce Campbell was going to play Ash Williams but when marvel said no Bruce Campbell posted a scrapped script as an April fools joke. Sam raimi also had a 3.2 hour run time where it was going to start the “Marvel zombies” comic storyline with Ash Williams starting it all and have strange stopping a multiverse collapse of deadites and possessed hero’s and villans from across the multiverse. Wanda wasn’t even considered at first until marvel demanded she was there. The film also had lots of blood and gore and would have shown a planet of dead doctor strange’s and Wong would have died as well.

I thought Alt Stange did fight alone, then when he reviled how he defeated Thanos (with the dark hold), the rest of the team decided Alt Stange was to strong and killed him..

In fact isn't that what part of the story's about, Stange has a problem with giving up control bc he can't tust anyone but himself. It would make a lot of sense if Alt Strange fought Thanos alone..

Maybe the fight between them was so cataclysmic that the other barely got a chance to step in, I mean we've seen Strange fight Thanos. And with the power from the Book it would be even more incredible.
