Vladimir Putin orders ‘peacekeeping’ operation in Ukraine

President Vladimir Putin has ordered Russian troops to conduct a “peacekeeping” mission in two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine after recognising the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk.

Already there are unverified reports of trucks rolling into the Donbas region.

The West recognised Kosovo after NATO invaded. It's a bit hypocritical to condemned Russia for recognising two rebel territories. Unless NATO actually wants a war to distract from their domestic problems.

There is official Russian Presidential Decree for recognition of Donetsk region as an Independent State and official documents were signed Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between Russia and Donetsk Regional Government. According to that documents Donetsk Region officials asked Russia for help and Russian military troops are there for a peacekeeping mission only.

Well the USA used a "twisted" version of history of recognising kosovo. Cant blame russia for doing the same in ukraine and georgia. Usa also used the excuse of human rights and oppressed minorities to get into iraq, syria and lybia. Cant blame russia for doing the same
