As a data/comm guy, yall will have to arrange deals with data comm suppliers for contractor deals. Connector cost factors into our quote directly and yes we have to make a profit at a more or less industry standard cost for service. Meaning if I price a single data run at 120 labor and parts included, if your connector costs twice at homedepot than it does for the competition at my parts distributor with tax ID, ill never switch over and volume sales are what you need. Klein never figured this out and as a result you can find packages of their F connectors at Home Depot so old the plastic is cracking. Theyre a clone of the ICC snap n seal design, if you make it it has to be cheap to contractors. My Ideal rj45 EZ connector cost is also half the cost compared to klein just because they didnt have contractor pricing to compete. Good luck in new frontiers!
