Teri is ready to offer a more critical understanding of what happens when they see themselves in photographs. A photographer for the past 10 years, she has photographed more than 1,500 people, and they all have said a version of “I look terrible in photos.” They aren’t the problem! They just may be missing what happens when we see ourselves in photographs.

My friends put immense pressure on me to take group photos, and I almost always look terrible compared to everyone else. I came into this talk thinking you would be providing tips on how to improve my angles, lol. Instead, you've instilled a new found sense of confidence and evidence based analysis of the hows and whys of feeling not photogenic. Moving forward, I will try my best to ignore trying to look good and just live in the moment and feel good when having my pictures taken. Thank you!

🌍 We often think we look bad in photos, but it's not about how we actually look.

🤖 Reasons we feel this way:
1. 🔁 Seeing our reverse image is unfamiliar.
2. 🎭 Photos may not align with how we want to be portrayed.
3. 🔍 We hyperfocus on our insecurities.
4. 🤷‍♀️ We have unrealistic expectations of photography and bodies.
5. 📸 We judge certain angles as "better" than others.

🙌 We should embrace all angles and moments captured, as they're simply different documentations of our amazing lives.
