Do you know who’s not griping about being left off of the team Caitlin Clark she addressed this in a media presser just a few days ago where she said that she understood that she was called like they did other players and that it gave her something to work for and that she would be cheering on USA women’s basketball team, hoping they would win Gold.

I like Caitlin but I don't think she should be on the team. She needs to earn it. Yes she was good in college but she needs to prove it in the WNBA first.

Sports isn’t about media impact, it’s a meritocracy. It’s about who will help you win, that’s what we like about it. The minute you put someone on a team over someone who deserves to be there you ruin what makes sports great. Clark will be on there when she’s ready, but there are incredible guards on the team USA roster with experience and champion pedigree. Many of the women can play multiple positions, which Clark can’t do. Who does she replace? Taurasi? She’s still playing at a high level and she has Lebron level experience… You’re not taking out Plum, Lloyd, or Ionescu. Maybe Gray because of the injury, but even if you don’t take Gray, Arike should be included over Caitlin. Clark has a month of experience, and she’s struggled at times, there’s no basketball reason to include her. And if we’re doing it for a non-basketball reason, then we’re not even talking about basketball anymore.

Maybe that’s the problem. If a path creates what’s generally in the league, then a different path creates Clark, well then.

Regardless of whether she deserves or doesn't deserve to be on the Olympic team, women's basketball is blowing the opportunity to get exposure like it never has before. For 4 decades, the WNBA has not been relevant, and its athletes have been complaining about wanting equal pay even though the league is not profitable. This is their chance to bring attention to their sport and just maybe turn that around.

No. She should be part of it…. She is without a doubt, the most watched and loved woman basketball player in the country in all of history.. why wouldn’t that alone, qualify her to represent the country in the Olympics ? That alone qualifies her… it just does, ,
