The 8Bitdo Ultimate C Bluetooth Controller only states that it's compatible with the Nintendo Switch. In this video, we show how it is indeed possible to use the controller on a Windows PC using Steam, within Epic Games Launcher, and also on a Steam Deck.

you have to turn on using the power button + X button, then it will turn on in pc mode instead of mobile mode

I wish they'd put the dpad from their Neo Geo controller on the new ultimate C controller. Good to see Steam passthrough works I can remember when it used to be hit and miss.

Make sure steam is not running in the back ground when u launch the epic store game and it will work fine…at least for me.

Gotta love Windows... after installing it, you then need to install stuff so you can actually use it to watch videos, listen to audio formats, view various "standard" image formats like .psd or .webp, use game controllers for the major consoles. Stuff that should be baseline OS functions...

It's opening a virtual keyboard because you have steam input desktop commands enabled. Disable them and it should go away. Also, I'm pretty sure this controller has an xinput mode which would just make it be recognized as a 360 controller instead.

That problem is caused by steam, for some stpid reason they messed an update who enabled controllers to be used as mouse, it is annoying but there's plenty of tutorials for fixing this

It might be worth checking to see if there's a firmware update for it that improves things. I have the 2.4Ghz version & it has had updates since I bought it. I've not noticed any improvements, but it's worth a try.

I should've watched this before, I got really stressed out because the controls were highkey crazy in every single game. Then I remembered that you could configure a controller on Steam's Controller setting, then I tried playing Celeste and the controls were finally fine. After that, I just have every single game as a Non-Steam game so they can work properly lol.

If you pair it with the ultimate software you can adjust button layout, trigger sensitivity and more.

I've got both the 8BitDo Pro 2 and the Ultimate 2.4ghz, and i love them even though i barely use them. lol
No, but they're actually *really* good for the price. My only complaint though is that they're *TINY, * especially in my hands.

Nintendo Pro Controller is quite ok with Steam games. Other games need a bit more setup.

I found out that epic has a lot of problems with different controllers and the games work just fine with steam. 8bitdo also has a lot of software updates that might fix things (sometimes make it worse though)

this is probably the single controller from 8bit do you shoulg get for pc. it is switch only. it works as we've seen, but yes, the triggers are not analog. it has gyro and hd rumble tho

subscribed, been wanting to buy the purple version with the dongle add onm, I have the version1 of the dongle that allows me to use with the ps4 dual shock4, but i need a spare controller and dongle for my pc.

you do know that there is a newer version than what you are reviewing right? would you give the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller a next review then? it's with hall effect sticks and a lot more improvement than the one you got now just for the same 30 dollars price in their website.
