If bananas fought back and won they could make a movie about it and call it "Banana Wars: Attack of the Clones."

There is a variety of banana in Malaysia that has a red skin. Its something that i didnt expect because it tasted even better than a cavendish. A must-try~

Aww, great vid and super interesting and the host is sweet and kitschy. I never knew there were so many kinds, though I knew there were a few.

I've heard that the candy banana flavor is what bananas actually should taste like but those were wiped out.

So you went to Malaysia and walked thru a contaminated field full of banana trees infected with a fungus then. Hopped on a plane went to Peru with same clothes likely saturated with fungal spores to transport it to that field

This is what will eventually happen to all seedless varieties they get weaker and weaker over time., Bananas grown from true seeds will cope better The wild ones seem to have no problems in many parts where they grow. Mono cropping and using clones of clones will always present problems and less resistance to fungus. Besides there is some thing you can do, Fungus hates biochar Cut down all the effected plants and get some biochar in there and see what happens. The new shoots will come up looking a lot better.

How does a short form food show have a production budget bigger than CNN?

I don’t think so.
Banana is not a monoculture in my part of the world. Cavendish is too weird tasting anyway.

Considering how professional your documentary is, your videos are underwatched🙂 consider better advertising.

Cavendish bananas are far from the best, the are the most profitable for international capitalism. They are what you have because they can be picked green and travel well, and they were resistant to Panama disease. So corporations monocropped them, creating the circumstances for them to become vulnerable to Panama disease. Believe me, indigenous bananas from various parts of the world are better. I grow two varieties that I love. I really don't like the taste of Cavendish, but that is because I have had so many of the better ones.

Do you really need to take the plane to Malaysia to tell us about bananas? The entire world is burning out. That's pretty serious isn't it?
