The @DJI Mic has been out for around a year, and after using it for many different projects, I partnered with DJI to tell you my experience and whether it is still worth buying.

I bought this brand new when it first came out and love it! I still have my Zoom H4N but it doesn't get much use anymore. The big thing for me especially for what I shoot is that I had to be able operate it wirelessly without being near the subject at all and this solved that and provides an EXTRAORDINARY sound quality thats great! This is a no brainer purchase for anyone who does anything audio related.

I love that you can record on just the mic itself without the receive, or record to the receiver and the mic so you have a backup no matter what.

This is one of the rare times that a product exceeds expectations. I bought it right before my trip. Money well spent.

Been using the DJI mic for a dome ENG work with interviews. NOTHING TOUCHES THIS PRODUCT. INCREDIBLE

I got mine 8 months ago and has been one of my favorite pieces. I used it a lot on real estate, interview and personal content. Never got signal problems, audio files are really good and all packed like AirPods. If they break, definitely gonna buy again the same or next model.

I bought a Rode Wireless Go and then the II version. The II version failed after a few months so I got it replaced and then sold it. Now I'm back on the original Wireless Go. I have to say I am jealous of this DJI system, it looks like a big upgrade :)

One way I use the DJI mic a lot is for bands. I plug the transmitter with the 1/8 inch cable to the Headphone jack from the band's board and voila! Clean sound.

I am in the same boat, I see many more people pushing the Rode Wireless setup, but I did my research and preferred this one, and have not had any reason to regret it.
Well one case, the Insta360 X2 has an adapter for the Rode that does not work with this out of the box, but same as you yet again I normally just record locally and not use the transmitter so that has never been an issue for me.

I clipped one of these right onto a mic stand using the magnet clip beside the wired mic. I also have metal clamps I use to put these mic's almost anywhere like a podium. They work well for event filming and livestreaming.

Looks like a great system. The only thing I think they could really improve with the next version would be to have 32 bit float on the internal recording on the transmitters as a back up, that way there should never be any issues with back up recordings.

I use mine mostly as backup audio capture but always keep it in my kit for those unexpected video shoots where I don't have easy access to the talent to wire them up (conferences), or impromptu interviews where none were requested. Because they deploy so quickly and have internal recording, I can be ready in mere seconds over my standard Sony wireless that requires fresh batteries, frequency scan and matching. My biggest complaint is with the cold-shoe mount, which I wish would be improved. It's fine for straight on cold shoe, but can't easily be placed anywhere on a rigged up camera without some modifications or workarounds. Even a 1/4-20 thread on the bottom would be ideal, so that I could use a mini ball head mount or similar as an alternative. As a "version 1.0" product though, I have to give DJI credit for their fantastic all-in-a-case solution and intuitive interface.
My suggestion is to pair these with the Shure MVL microphone for even better sound, and a more discrete appearance if you're attaching it to talent's outerwear.

Your combination of presenting information, real world tests and personal experiences made this really informative! Instant sub, keep going Matt! :)

I don't have the case, I just got a single Tx and Rx kit. But I don't need more. I found a nifty case on the jungle site with tear out foam squares that fits my DJI mic, my DJI pocket 1, and a smatree external battery and tripod with 2 adapters, with a zip pouch for cables and the dead cat. It's been great! For anyone looking for something that gets the job done as good today as it did 2 years ago, the first gens are fine.

Having a little panel on the rear of the case with enough room for the fluffies and the cables would be great.

Listen, the whole idea (for me) of this system is to have a fully wireless + transmitter for my very high quality lav mics. The fact i can use each of the transmitters as a mic is a bonus. I get that people but these just as mics, but that is secondary for me but also a huge bonus. I recommend the Shure MVL lav mics to go with them, but do your own research!

Bought just some random hardcase for my DJI Mic, and it's pretty much solved a problem. It has dedicated zip pocket for cables and deadcats, and it protects the main charging unit from scratches and other things. It was like....5$. 100% worth it.

Hands down this is the best DJI mic review on the internet. When he went out to 800ft I was sold!
