DJI Mic 2 - 8 Things I LOVE and HATE

The DJI Mic 2 is one of the hottest audio products out there. With its rich feature set and 32-bit float recording, there's a lot to be excited about... but is the DJI Mic 2 actually worth the hype?

Hey, a small piece of gaffers tape stuck in to the cold shoe mount gives enough resistance for the receiver to stay in place 👍🏻

The noise reduction is useful when you're live streaming where it isn't possible to remove the background noise in post.

This video review has been one of the best, real review I have ever seen.

Such a good review, and yes it’s almost always better to process things in post, for the same reason it’s better not have electronic stabilisation on and to do it in post.

Neewer UA030 cold shoe adapter works great and holds both dji receiver or transmitters.

Great video! Did you ever do a review of those lavs?

Thank for this! The new active hotshoe attachment that prevents the use of a cable makes me lean to this one over the Rode Wireless Pro. But still kinda on the fence about them... If you use the coldshoe; there are these cold shoe quick release locking baseplates by the way!

This is actually how I should have put my video together. 😊 I just wanted to make a first impressions video and I don't think it is being received well. I was a little bit too emotional and I may have to copy paste your format here

Put thin felt in the cold clip to make fitment tighter

Great video. Just wanted to know if I select 32 bit and record on receiver then do I still need to make any audio gain adjustments or am I good to go?

I wish I had a fast filter to lower the music levels on this video... future YT should have the option to silence music and keep only the voices..

put some gaff tape in the cold shoe to thicken it up and also add grip, it works for the mic 1 receiver

You can switch to S5 IIX, it is working with hot shoe there perfectly! :D

I sanded the little numbs on my original dii mic cold shoe adapter down a bit and it clasps on better, you could also try tape, but I wanted a more permanent solution

The cold shoe thing is really good to know. Even with the solution that Iain suggested, it’s good to know a cold shoe on its own won’t hold the mic in place, which is really, really unfortunate.

I want to buy this microphone, in the simplest option where I only receive the transmitter... my doubt is whether the intelligent noise cancellation works without the transmitter... what I think would be possible was to record the sound and in editing sync it with the image... that way I'll have the best of this microphone?

Do you prefer DJI mic 2 compared with the rode pro? I need one of them for recording my lectures around 2 hours long. Using the camera wireless with the reciever.

Overall a great system but a few things need to improve:

- TX automatically goes into record when powering on. I'd like to have an option to turn this feature off.
- No visual indication on the RX display when the TX Lo Cut filter is ON
- The new MI Shoe Adapter is working great with Sony FX6 but not the Sony FX9, not sure why...
- Although not an issue in post, the audio delay while monitoring is a bit annoying and a bit offsetting.
