Those negotiations can be so tricky! You hate thinking that you left tens of thousands on the table because you had a poor negotiation! I know you mentioned a share in the company, but I would still consider adding stock options to the list. For my first job in semiconductors, they did have a quarterly discount program to buy stock, but in my original offer, I was granted 10, 000 stock options, set at the price when the offer was made, vested over five years. If you want a laugh, it was at Micron. Go check out MU stock from 6/26/2000 when I was hired through 4/1/2005 when I left. It went from 90 to 10 and I never could exercise any of them!
