It’s time to graduate from lat pull downs and level up to a better exercise.. the pull up. My training program includes a full pull up progression guide that’s specifically designed for natural lifters to increase their strength on the pull up and use it as the foundational exercise to build the back. Can be found here 👉🏼 dylansprogram.com

Bro casually lifted the "why do an inferior movement" line from Tom Platz😂

It's not an alternative movement, it's a different movement, i include both in my routine.

My uncle recommended me to first start lat Pull down and when I'm lifting atleast half of my body weight and then start doing pull ups. Solid Advice

He didn’t mention how you start off on a pull up bar if you can’t do 1 yet. Start by jumping and pulling yourself up to the bar and hold for as long as you can letting yourself down slowly, repeat for several sets until strong enough to perform pull up(s).

Couldn’t agree more. Been doing pull ups almost every day for 2 months now and it has made a huge difference in my posture and frame

I like the sincerity, yes I suck at it but I will try it today!

I use Lat pull-downs to activate as a primary and pull-ups as a main compound for hypertrophy. Seeing great progress with both

I’m not a bodybuilder but I’ve been lifting for almost 25 years and I assure you lat pull-downs don’t suck at all. Especially once my elbow joints became an issue. They also will grow your lats nicely. Are pull-ups “better”? Probably, but it’s situational, and pull-downs do work.

Or you can just do both in your workout. I do both of them and seated rows and have seen results the past year. Dont think it's necessary to cut out out the movement completely

Glad to hear your explanation when I couldn’t do pull ups (overweight didn’t have the strength to get myself more than half way up it’s a journey people) I did lat pull downs but as soon as I could do pull ups I got on them

There is no exercise that works magically.
Just stick to your schedule, train close to failure and progress in it.

so true! I never did lat pulldowns even when I was too weak for them. I used 3 bands to help me and with time starting taking each one out. I can now do pull-ups without bands and back gains I made are insane!

if you’re going for powerlifting lat pull downs will be your friends cause after your compounds you’re mostly gassed if your bodybuilding then pull ups will be your best friend for more overall muscle development.

I literally did not know this knowledge. I do both methods, but i thought they work out different parts of the back. Well just saved me time in the gym, thank you.
