Anyone else remember the surplus Yugoslavia aks? The forgrip furniture would get so hot it would catch fire. You had to wrap your sling around it just to hold it after 3 mags.

I’ve been drilling and Dremeling out my SKS stock.
It houses a Med-Kit, Water Purifier’s, Some High density food ration Squares, Fire Starter, Paracord, Fishing Hooks, Line, And Gun Maintenance Kit.
With a Back Up Rod, and Rods Attachments. And enough Oil to do all the Protection needed as long as you actually maintain it.

It as like 13lbs.

I think you underestimate how many wood aks have been through hell and back and still look fine. My AK has wood BFPU furniture that looks great

I use metal for my funature both stock and handgaurds. I want to be able to beat someone with it like brass knuckles if I have too. metal triangle stocks make that easy.
