its not just for fully automatic fire. It’s because of the AKs operating system. the gas piston assembly and the bolt are heavier than an AR rifles so they recoil more when moving backwards. because of the way we hold rifles ALL RIFLES will slightly recoil to the side of our dominant hand. the slant brake has been around for a long time and it can be just as effective on a semi auto rifle

1. It’s an AKM
2. It’s a compensator
3. This compensator compensates for the slightly diagonal muzzle rise that is going to the right. Hence why the cut is done so that the protruding part of the compensator is down/left of the muzzle. It’s the heavy charging handle going back and forth that makes the muzzle going a bit to the right when shooting.

These muzzle breaks can be reversed for left handed shooters lmao 🤣

It's because it's not an AK-47, it's an AKM.

Fun fact, it's easily rotated 45 degrees if you're wrong handed

Ok yea this confirms dude is either new to guns or is just making a channel for none gun people. Seeing the comments of people actually not understanding how a muzzle works tells me he is probably just playing it smart and making vids for them. Either way gun knowledge is NEEDED currently so hats off either way.

You can usually push the plunger in and turn the break the other direction, or just replace the break lol

Oh yes...the muzzle break on that ar15 will surely help with the overwhelming recoil of 556.

Because one day all of our semi-automatic rifles will need to be full auto.

I have a RA47-C I absolutely love it, especially because it’s forged and not cast like the first gen models, AK over AR all day.

It’s not bc of right handed shooters. It’s because the charging handle/bolt are on the right and cause the rifle to move more horizontally. The offset break counteracts that extra moving weight.

Chances are they beat their left-handed soldiers into being right-handed. That would be pretty on-brand for Russia.

Riley AK is cool for fun but I wouldn’t trust my life with it

Because the moving parts on all AK-s have more mass on one side, look at the shape. Tilted muzzle break compansates for that inbalance.
