Honestly, I hadn’t heard much about the show until I watched your previous theory vid on it. After that I was curious and ended up watching the entire series within 3 days. I was sad to see that it had been canceled, but I’m glad that it was still an amazing series with interesting theory fodder like this video

it's not "season 3", it's "season 2", the season 1 was in two parts but it's still season one
and yes netflix did renew for a season 2 but recently cancelled it, hence the recent backlash

I think the most terrifying question this show forces the viewer to ask themselves is does humanity actually need a secret society or network of them to save humanity from itself?

I dont think that the robes were ever humans, I don´t think that what they said to regan was true, it looked more like a tale designed for regan so she will feel that she and the robes were the same and had the same objective, they basically made her resign to her true love and lower her guard. Also that algorithm seems like something ominous, seems to me like the robes will wait for her to finish it and then some how throw her under the bus, maybe pull a borgia on her and pin the end of free will on her.

I’m so sad that the show is cancelled, this theory by the way is AMAZING and I agree with all of it. It’s given a me a fresh perspective of the show, and I’m curious that if this theory is true how many of Reagan’s actions are truly even hers in the show. Loved this ☺️✌️

Another note,
Talking about influences Regan's emotion with praise. Remember in the beginning when Regan was suspicious of Brett and we completely forgot he was hired to be an everyman. What if the robes put Brett there to do just that, to have another way to change and move Regan the direction she needed to go. Just some food for thought...

Shion Takeuchi is the ONLY creative that deserves the credit. this isnt alex hirsh's baby as much as i love him... i was first jaded when i found this out, but then finding out she was a big part of gravity falls as well as being an animator/writer for adventure time AS WELL, then i set aside my fanboy syndrome and treated her as the show creator (which she is) and found out how little alex hirsh was a part of this.... i realized that Shion Takeushi needs defended and recognized as being the creative that brought us this absolute gem of a show.

37 s sine is 3/5. My theory : The robes are aliens whose planet was destroyed. A few billions of them escaped and reached Earth, but due to the lack of resources (appropriate hosts ) almost none of them could survive on their own. So most of them got into Cryonics state. Only 5 of them took the risk to explore the new planet in order to find intelligent life that was suitable to be hosts for the robes
Robes are symbiotic creatures, parasytes actually, who merge with the brain of other creatures taking over their bodies. However, on Earth there were no creatures with the appropriate brain structure to be a host. But then that one human who ate the mushroom happened. Suddenly, mankind grew bigger brains. HOWEVER, even so, they didnt have enough brain capacity to storage the robes, except for 5 gifted humans. The robes possessed those 5 humans. they initally thought that because of the evolution the mushroom had triggered, soon all of mankind would be suitable hosts for the robes, but that didnt happen. Humans were too stupid to evolve beyond that. Since humans were The robes s only hope to survive, soon the robes had no choice but to pretty much babysit the new species. Thats why they have been protecting humans, waiting for a chance to make them evolve into more intelligent creatures, in order to save the rest of the robes. The reason they decided to find a "new robe" during season 1 finale was because they are running out of time. The cryonic state doesnt last forever and their comrades are dying as soon as they get out of cryonic state.
but now they have found Reagan, and they think she has the potential to make human smarter so they can finally possess humans and then the Robes s alien race would survive. BTW, the reason the plan is called "Project X37" is because they would need 3/5 of human population to be hosts for the sleeping Robes. 3/5 is 37 s sine

I noticed that one of the original Black Robes looks exactly like Reagan. It's possible that the current Black Robes are descendants of the original ones and they're all related.

I used to have this crazy conspiracy, Its probably not true but I'll share it.
What if Inside Job's universe is the original universe before Gravity Falls and that X37 isn't a plan but, A creature(i know its stupid) like Bill Cipher that they attempt to use for whatever they want, They obviously have some overall goal. That forces Inside Job's character to use the universe changing machine and all the things in Bill Ciphers dimension is really just all the leftovers from past universes. It has been seen that its possible for things from previous universes to survive through another universe but, Memory is wiped. The fun thing about the theory if it worked is that there could be Inside Job's characters in that universe. Just dumb funny theory though.
