Right before we put my dog down due to serious heart problems, we gave him a huge piece of brownie. He loved it. Hopefully it didn't get to him until he was put to sleep. I loved that dog.

That's why we love chocolate.

A kitten we had many years ago got into about 50 grams of chocolate...probably it was milk chocolate, (what I usually bought). He showed no obvious ill effects except that for the rest of his life, you only had to show him chocolate to get him to leave the area. (It was sometimes handy to get him to relocate like when cooking, etc.) We had no idea that the chocolate was dangerous for him but fortunately, HE seemed to realize that he had been made sick by it and instinctively avoided it for life.
