Seve Ballesteros. Last round at the 1989 PGA Championship at Kemper Lakes, Illinois.

Tied 6th after the 3rd round, Seve ran out of steam on the back nine and fell back to tied 12th. The winner coming in on the rails was another dearly departed, Payne Stewart.
On a side note, this was the last cut at a major, Arnold Palmer made, aged 60!

Great chance after 9 then let it slip he really had a great chance to win this, seemed to play differently in America not as aggressive

Seve was very unlucky in that era in the US Open and the PGA championship & for not of a little bit of good fortune would’ve won both and completed the Grand Slam
