I can’t begin to explain how effective this little animation is to clear things up for me. I have taken the entire quantum physics course, but did not understand it so explicitly what was physically happening there. I could derive the heck out of potential well and tunneling but seeing it physically happening so neatly explained is a blessing. Please continue making complex science more easier. Also, I can’t thank you enough for doing an English version as well.

Short, concise and clear. The only drawback is lack of introduction that what in reality is being extracted. In fact from the tunneling we could obtain LDOS, which makes it even more important than surface topography.

An explanation that explains nothing. It does not expalain WHY and HOW an electron is torn? An elecron can quit its atom for different reasons (temperature, photons, mecanical force etc.). The role of a tunnel effect is NOT shown and NOT explained.
