My completely unfounded guess is that there is a higher dimension that are slipping in and out of our 3D dimension at the particle level. Measuring it "holds" it in our dimension.

The particle is a bit of sense data. It doesnt exist until the matter wave reflects to an observer. The wave is in the state of "becoming". A particle is a bit of sense data in a state of "being". Esse es percipi. To be is to be percieved. It happens from moment to moment.
